Javier Gomez Presents at Maison&Objet
JG Home Living Founder Presents Portuguese Quartier at Maison&Objet Paris 2023
JG Home Living is proud to announce that founder Javier Gomez showcased his innovative project Portuguese Quartier at Maison&Objet Paris in January 2023. This installation featured a curated collection of furniture, textiles, and design pieces from Portuguese brands, highlighting the country’s emerging influence in interior design and decoration.
Maison&Objet, a leading international home and lifestyle fair held twice a year at Paris Nord Villepinte, attracts over 60,000 visitors and celebrates the latest trends in design, craftsmanship, and art. Guillaume Prot, Director of the fair, noted: “We are delighted to collaborate with Javier Gomez. This hybrid project brings together the most exciting lifestyle brands and artists, creating a platform to celebrate Portugal’s emerging styles in interiors, décor, craftsmanship, and art.”
Portuguese Quartier was born during Javier’s two-year stay in Portugal amid the COVID-19 pandemic, where he realized that much of the world was unfamiliar with Portugal’s design potential. The project reflects his vision of Maison&Objet as more than a trade fair, it is a global stage for creativity, dialogue, and innovation in design.
Javier Gomez has a distinguished career spanning photography, luxury collaborations, and interior design. Born in Panama City, he spent a decade in New York building a reputation as a fine art photographer before becoming the first Panamanian artist to exhibit at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Monaco. His collaborations include BVLGARI (for its 130th anniversary) and Fendi Casa in New York. In 2016, he was awarded the Rising Talent Award for the Americas by Maison&Objet and currently serves as the fair’s Ambassador for the Americas.
Portuguese Quartier at Maison&Objet 2023 exemplifies Javier’s mission to merge art, design, and cultural storytelling, bringing Portugal’s rich design heritage to an international audience.
